ABOUT ME
My home is in Derby and the nearby Peak District has been the main inspiration for my photography over the last ten years. Recently I have begun exploring urban scenes, with architecture and people featuring in my compositions.
I use a digital SLR camera and my exhibition pieces have been mostly large, colour works printed on water-colour paper. Now I am producing many more black and white pictures, where the drama of light on buildings and people comes to the fore.
Through my career as an artist there have been many different influences and sources of inspiration. The landscapes of Ansel Adams and the work of Derby based photographer John Blakemore are two exemplars who come to mind.
